Remitly doesn’t accept cash at ATMs or credit cards from Japan. Wise is cheapest when you pay by bank transfer; a debit card raised its fee on our sample to about ¥3,700 to ¥4,900.
Each transfer through a Type 2 provider is capped at ¥1,000,000 by law. For each transfer over ¥1,000,000, your provider files a report with the tax office. For tax questions, ask a tax accountant (税理士). Our send money from Japan guide explains the limits and the cash options.

Japan's rules here are about reporting: your provider reports each transfer over ¥1,000,000 to the tax office. Whether any tax applies depends on your situation, so ask a tax accountant (税理士) in Japan or a tax adviser in India. This guide doesn't cover Indian tax.
